Aotearoa
Year: 2016

Inspiration:

The long white cloud sometimes is not bright and white, but darkens, and brings spectacular storms.

Materials & Techniques:

With the well-known literal meaning for Aotearoa (New Zealand) being 'Land of the Long White Cloud', it seemed like the perfect plan to make a long white storm cloud for the Aoetaroa section of the World of Wearable Art!
Aotearoa had 2 seperate circuits of white and purple led lights across four seperate components of the outfit. They were controlled by hand-held switched which could be easily activated by the model. Unfortunately, it was not selected to appear in the show.

Satin and tulle bridal off-cuts, wire, plastic tubing, sequinned fabric, pailettes, led lights, spray paint.
